The Little Green Cabin

The Little Green Cabin is the ideal way to save money while staying in a rustic Alaskan cabin in historic Hope, Alaska. This "dry” cabin (dry, in that it has no running water) is warm, cozy, quaint and comfortable. Guests at the Little Green Cabin will have access to the Wash Hut next door, where warm showers and indoor plumbing is provided. Additionally, a dedicated outhouse is next door.

The cabin is equipped with a mini fridge and a microwave to warm up food. The Foreman grill on the deck and the shared fire pit also provide ways to grill up grub.

We describe the accommodations at the Little Green Cabin as a big step up from tent camping. It isn't a luxury stay, and for those campers that love it the most, it is the perfect getaway from the busy-ness of modern amenities. There is no simpler or more authentic way to spend your time in Hope.

The Little Green Cabin is a cozy 300 square foot home, and it features a queen size bed in the loft (complete with all linens) and two pull-out couches (bring your own sleeping bags for the pull-out couches. Please note: the couches must be moved around to be pulled out is a "little cabin" after all). The Little Green Cabin offers a wood stove, a dinette set for two, an outdoor portable grill, and a shared fire pit with a picnic table (the fire pit and picnic table are shared by the neighboring Hirshey Cabin). There is also a TV/VCR combo with a small video library for you to spend a quiet evening in. Or, feel free to enjoy one of the board games available in the cabin.

Set on 2.5 acres of land and adjacent to 18 acres of state and borough land, the Little Green Cabin delights campers looking for a simple place to stay while on a budget.
